Re: A5 Longshoot to Mancetter essential maintenance work

I’m writing to inform you of some upcomingessential maintenance work on the A5, between Longshoot junction and Mancetter roundabout. Our work will include safety barrier repairs, drainage improvements, lighting, grass/tree cutting and maintenance to our roadside signage. We’ll also take the opportunity to complete any other work following routine inspections while the A5 is closed.

When will this work take place?

We’ll be carrying out work overnighton weeknights only, between 8pm and 6am, from 8 October to 10 October. To complete out this work safely, our traffic management will be installed as follows:

• 8 October – Longshoot junction to Higham roundabout – total closure of the A5
• 9 October – Higham roundabout to Redgate junction – total closure of the A5
• 10 October – Redgate junction to Mancetter roundabout – total closure of the A5

During closures, access to frontages will be maintained throughout.

What does this mean for you?

During the closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.

We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
